Thought I would post something about a Toyota in this Toyota group.
A new intermittent click developed in my 2001 Avalon dashboard. I initially
believed it was the left most vent. But accidentally I discovered that
right below it, the side mirror adjustment button was the real culprit.
Interestingly it is spring loaded to the dashboard and can be pushed in and
out a bit. And if it gets mis-positions, it gives off an annoying click.
I'd call it a clever but unsuccessful design.

Glad you found the rattle, Art!

I had an annoying rattle in dash of my Highlander around the little "drawer"
on left side. I have a bunch of keys in there to my moms house/cars/etc. I
pulled them out and still a rattle. I was going to take it to dealer and
raise hell ("Cheap piece of crap" on my mind"

Pull drawer out and lo, there was a small keyring (my fault) on lip back of
dash.

Now, all I can bitch about is when I pull the driver door closed and don't
move my fat head in time.
Our 02 Avalon had a problem with driver door latch but they fixed it. Since
then both been good

Ron
