Theft deterrent problem |
|
|
I have 1999 Toyota Sienna. I took out the battery to replace a light bulb
and then reconnected the battery. The theft deterrent alarm went off when I
reconnected the battery and I can't get it to reset. I pulled the 10 amp
horn / deterrent fuse but the car won't start. Is that normal? I then
reinserted the fuse after trying to reset the alarm. I think I did reset it
because the lights flashed. So, I hopped in the car (the hood was still up)
and tried to start the car. The alarm went off. I then closed the hood and
tried to start the car and it won't start. There is a red theft deterrent
button in the car. Am I supposed to push it to reset the car? I am
COMPLETELY CONFUSED. HELP!!!!!

Hmmm...dunno...didn't read it. I couldn't get my fat hands behind the bulb
to pull it out. It was on the right side with the battery right behind the
bulb.

If the theft deterrent system is a factory system, the owner's manual will |
give instructions for resetting the system. Try using the key fob to lock
and then unlock the doors and then try starting the car. Good luck!
