My dad has a 1930 Chrysler Model 66, inline 6-cyl. convertible roadster that
he has been putting the finishing touches on. He just had some machine work
done to replace the water pump shaft and bushings, etc.

He asked me to see if I can find some cross-reference information on early
Delco distributors, or find someone who'd have lead.....

His car has a 639x casting for the dizzy body, and the shaft and body are in
decent shape. New bushings are not a problem, but he'd like to find
replacement point & weight plates, weights, and springs to refurbish the
advance mechanism.

We figure that the Delco branded body (639x) and shaft were probably
Chrysler specific, but the other parts were probably used elsewhere, but
without some kind of cross-reference we're SOL.

Anybody here who might have and old shop manual, cross-ref., or a lead to a
vendor / shop that might? He's already checked the obvious places like
Hemmings.

Thanks,
Mark

Says Delco-R. right on the case with the number 639x ?

Evidently the engine in this car was used in very few production models in
1929 and 30. Even with the tranny, which we rebuilt, used internals common
to other trans., but the case was model specific.

A quick search via Google turned up the following vendor. I know
nothing about them but they list a whole lot of Delco ignition items
including 639x parts.

My shortened version via snipURL in case the long link below gets

Thanks for the link......but I'd already found them using Google, Altavista,
etc. This outfit and several others have tune-up parts - points,
condensors, caps and rotors, but my dad needs the mechanical parts for the
advance mechanism which they do not carry. We have contacted them and the
others via email to see if they can provide a lead on the mechanicals
though.

Still hoping to find a cross reference.

other dist plates for other Chrs but the
list for the 639x says, call for price...
You know what that means$
I have never done any business with
these folks.
http://www.vapinc.com
The other plate prices were around $34.
Good luck.....
