Looking at E39 530i Touring models - approx 3 years old - what does the
panel consider to be the pros and cons of the SE and the Sport models?

And SatNav on the E39 - just a gimmick or a worthwhile addition?

Look at the Standard and Sport models side by side, and see if you can
resist the Sport. With it lowered stance and bigger rims, the Sport is
the obvious choice for cosmetics. It rides like a BMW should, as well.

I think the nutted spoked wheels are uuuuuugly. I have always like BMW's
that don't look special (wolf in sheep's clothing), but I'm getting old and
the bling-bling generation isn't something I readily identify with.

As for the Nav System, unless you travel extensively outside of your normal
area, it is a waste of money and space. If you travel occasionally to new
areas, you can get the same information from a hand held GPS. If you seldom
travel, buy a map. If you are in sales, and have to find new addresses all
of the time, the Nav System is a cool tool. The hand held GPS units will do
the same thing, but the convenience of having the system built in would be
worth the expense.

I would only consider the Sport Package. I have the Sport Package in my E36,
and I like the added touches to the seats. Compare the two trim levels side
by side, then choose.
