How do you adjust the headlights in a 2003 Corolla? |
|
|
It doesn't say in the manual. In back of the lights, there are a couple
things about the size of quarters that have a ridge of teeth on the inside,
these look like what you would use, but I'm not going to touch them until I
know for sure.

I don't know about your car, but there's usually a screw near the top of the
headlight assembly... |

You have just located the horizontal adjustment thumbwheel.

Thanks!
I was sorely disappointed with the dim lights and sharp cutoff of the low
beams. I replaced the low beam bulbs with a brighter, whiter kind and
adjusted the thumbwheels two entire rotations. I was concerned that this
might be too much, so I checked visually by standing a good distance in
front of the car, and double-checked by driving three hours after dark last
night to see if anyone thought I was using brights and flashed their brights
at me, I passed at least a thousand oncoming cars and no one flashed their
brights at me. BIG difference in what I could see! Before it seemed like
the lights cut off sharply 30 feet in front of the car (probably a trick of
perspective, it had to have been more than 30 feet) and now it seems like
they go 60 feet and fade out after that distance instead of cutting off
(again this "measurement" of 60 feet is only a perspective.)
I am much happier with night driving now. :-) |

Is there a vertical adjustment thumbwheel!?!
not tryin to be a wise ass but that's the only adjustment I see
on my 03, too.
btw, I used 9005's for my low beams and they're frickin awesome.
read http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Upgrade/More_light.htm
No I don't get flashed because of the 03's sharp cut-off and it's an
amazing difference @ 1700 vs. 1000 lumens.

The thumb screw I was referring to actually is the vertical adjustment. I
did not look for or find a horizontal adjustment. |
