Hi all, I need to remove the shifter knob on my wife's 99 Regal LS
(center console shifter). The knob appears to have a clip or
something on the backside but I can figure out how to remove it. Does
the shifter button need to be removed to access this clip?

Thanks!

typical clips on the floor shifts on my cars ( the 78 & 89 )used a C-
clip that pried out using a tiny screwdriver. Then pull up on the knob.

Push the knob back down give it a bang with your palm and push the C
Clip back in to install.

Same with my '95 W-body, I would assume '99 is the same.
