2002 Neon, new remote not programable |
|
|
I own a used 2002 Neon that has a remote entry system. It did not come with a remote entry device when I bought it. I purchased a new device at a local Dodge dealer. I tried following the directions in the owners manual to program the new remote to teh car. However, I am unable to ge the new remote programmed to work properly. I do not know if the new remote is functional or the problem is with the car. I called the dealer parts dept and was told to call the service manager. The service manager told me to bring in the car and the new remote and for $50 the dealer could program the remote to the car for me. I would like to know if the remote if good or not but there is no way of testing it. I called the Dodge Customer Service group and was told my only otion was to take the car and the remote to the dealer and have the dealer program the remote. Has anyone else out there had an experience where they tried to use the method in the owners manual to program a new remote to an old car and NOT had the instructiosn work? What did you dto get the remote to work? Did you end up having the dealer program the remote?
