why are german cars and engineers superior? |

If german cars and engineers are so superior why cant they make a reliable car. All the german cars have horrible reliability. I bought the 2006 Volkswagn Passat in August when they first came out. Since them there have been 3 recalls, a windshield wiper problem, a gas cap leak, and a starter problem. My brothers 02 BMW X5 has had numerous tranny and electrical problems. And dont even get me started on my sisters C230. Now lexus on the other hand is a japenese company, their build quality is almost that of mercedes, their performance almost that of mercedes, their prestige almost that of mercedes, yet lexus is 10x more reliable!! Heck, why didnt i buy a toyota avalon instead od this passat. So why are these German cars deamed superior when lexus is really a better car?
