|
|
The ABS light has been coming on recently after starting.i notice when the
engine runs for a while about 10 mins if u shut off and start again the
light does not come back on.i checked the disc pads and shoes and they ar
ok,the brake and clutch fluid ar ok.what could be causing this?and i feel
no difference in the braking function.

Could be a lot of things, but it's probably a bad wheel sensor. Need to |
read the codes to find out. |

First, I believe your 96 only has rear wheel ABS. Rear ABS was standard
until the Frontier in 98 when 4 wheel abs was standard.. If so, then the
front brakes are not affected by the ABS. It could be a stuck caliper.

I own a 2001 frontier xe, and I don't believe I front abs, only
rear....DON and a crazy extra, the last time my abs light came on,
my third brake light became like a running light that came on when the
truck started, and went bright as normal when I applied the brakes.
Took it to the dealer, and they said it was a bad led in the brake
light, replaced it and everything was fine.... DON |
