Oil additive question *Microlon* |
|
|
Years ago I used an additive called Microlon, it claims to reduce
friction on the metal surfaces, the car I had at the time was a Ford
Topaz 2.3 FI I sold that one with LOTS of Kms 203,000, lot of Highway
mileage you know... and the guy who bought it told me that after a
mechanical evaluation on the engine he was surprised on the high
compression figures it had. *I thought it was because of the very
regular oil changes and the additive*
The question is, does anyone knows for sure if such additive
effectively reduces wear on the engine, I was planning to put it in a
new car we have now.
Thanks

Additives are unnecessary. Change the oil on the manufacturers recommended
maintenance schedule and the engine will typically outlast the rest of the
car. If an extra margin is desired, use a synthetic blend or full synthetic
oil. |

does the isavefuel product work |
|

I wonder if this is a similar product to microlon. Its called ISaveFuel and claims to attach to engine walls similar to microlon. Has anybody heard of this product? How it works sounds interesting.
