I live in Omaha, and I'm having trouble finding parts locally. Even
the stores I talk to (O'Reilly, AutoZone, Advance) seem to have trouble
ordering them. Hell, Advance doesn't even have a listing for this
model.

For instance, this time around, I'm looking for a cap and rotor for my
E36 328i. I can find plugs anywhere, but no caps and no rotors.

Is there any reputable website that would have all these parts? There
is a dealership in town, but I'm not too fond of them, and I'd prefer
not to pay dealer prices anyway.

Thanks,
Gabe

Are what I have in my favorites. There's a couple others; check Roundel
for ads.

If you mean distributor caps and rotor arms, you'll have one hell of a job
finding any for a 6-cylinder E36 - no distributor!

Try Crevier BWM, they are in California but their parts are relatively
inexpensive.
Also, a good source for information is Roadfly.org, BMW listings.

I would suggest Arizona Autohaus. They are specialists in European
stuff and always have had FANTASTIC prices on OEM parts.
the website is:
http://www.autohausaz.com/
shipping is usually free and quick to boot.
Good luck!!!

There is no cap and rotor, that is why they do not list these parts.

The computer performs the function of the distributor on your engine. Each
cylinder gets its own coil, and the coil is fired by order of the computer,
much like the fuel injectors are fired by the computer.

Except, there is no distributor cap and rotor for this motor.
