i have a bmw 325i 1994 i have recently replaced the sensor for the brakes
and the trip computer continually says that it needs to be replace any ideas
as to what might be at fault

If it says "Brake Light Circuit", you probably have a bad brake switch. It
has nothing to do with your brake pad sensors.

BRAKE LAMP CIRCUIT ERROR has nothing at all to do with the brake sensors.
This error is caused by a faulty switch on the brake pedal.

Having said that, there are TWO sensors for brake wear, one for the front
brakes and another for the rear brakes. The sensors are located on diagonal
corners, RF and LR, or LF and RR (of these two options, I think the second
is the correct one). If you had brake work done on the front, then the back
is calling for attention.

Of course, there is always the possibility that while you think you replaced
the sensors, either you did not, or it (they) is (are) broken, again. You
might have PAID to have the sensors replaced, but there is always the chance
they were not.
