Can anyone help in finding out information on where different parts for
American cars are made from today?

I figure there are some cars that have parts from all over, Japan, Korea,
India, etc., that used to have parts that were all-American. Can anyone
help let me know about cars like these and where the parts come from
today?

Most of the vehicles sold with the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury
brand on the grill are made of at least 75%
and up to 90% American parts and have a #1 as the first digit of
the VIN. Every new vehicle sold in the US has a parts content
label on the window that list the percentage of parts made in
America and the country of origin of the engien and trasmission.
Those with a #2 as the first digit are made in Canada of at least
75% American parts as well. Some foreign manufactures, like
Toyota, try to give the impression that some of their models ar
made in the US but they are actually only assembled in the US, of
mostly imported parts and the others are made in Japan or Canada
with many parts from China. If the first digit of the VIN is a 4
it is assembled in the US of less than 75%, but more than 45%
American parts. A 5 indicates the vehicle is assembled in the US
of less than 45% american parts.. The Tundra and the Camry that
Toyata says are made in America have
a 5 thus only assembled on the US of less than 45% American
parts. Even when Toyota does use parts made in America they are
generally purchased from other Japanese manufactures like Nippon
steel or Bridgestone tires made in the US by Japanese companies.
Hope that helps

Plus the fact that the manufacturers often use more then one supplier
for the same part.... and these parts are sometimes not identical in
appearence ..but are in function ...
