I have a 4 cyl, 150k on it and when I turn to the left or the right I hear a whine on my power steering. Yesterday when I turned left or right it sounded like grinding and it pulsated. However, I added about 1/2 bottle of fluid and today it is acting like its fine. I guess my question is: If the power sterring pump should go out, can I drive the car for a couple weeks until I can afford to have it fixed?

Yes, your car will be a little harder to turn while not moving but you will be fine. Check all of your hoses before you replace the pump, you might just have a leak.

Mine went out twice on my 2000 GT. The car is nearly impossible to turn when it goes out.
