I have a 1997 Suburban and the ball joints are in bad shape. The guys down at the shop quoted me $1500 for parts and labor. I found the total in parts to be around $400. Their quote included; tie rod end, idler arm, pitman arm, ball joint, ball joint, and lower ball joint. I feel ok doing the tie rod, idler arm, and pitman arm, but the big question is can I replace three possible all ball joints. According to the Haynes repair manual it is only 44 steps.
The hardest part looks to be getting the ball joints out.

Any information will be enjoyed.
