Help!!! Have an '97 318IS with what was intermittent, but is now a
permanent problem. Message eep-2 (not eep-1) message is displayed where
mileage should be...AND, the fuel, temp, speedo and tach gauges are all
"dead".

The problem began in the summer, but when the car warmed up, and ignition
switch cycled the message went away and all of the gauges worked. It's
been unresponsive for the last month, and the hope was it'd "fix
itself"...no luck.

Does anyone know what the problem might be. Any ideas/suggestions greatly
appreciated!!!

I have exactly the same problem, but the speedo does work.

Did you find out what the problem is? or does anyone have an answer.

BMW said they don't know that fault code, which seems strange as they made the damn thing !!

I have been told that I need a new cluster. Is this true or is it a smaller problem ?
