Value of a 1940 Ford Conv needed, Is there a rating system? |
|
|
I will soon be selling a 1940 Ford Deluxe Conv. and would like some
idea of it's value. I am told there is a rating system of 1 to 6 for
the condition of old cars. is this so? Is there a web site that
describes it?
Forget NADA they stop at 1946.
This car is really bad, in need of 10 years of work and several
thousand dollars before it will be nice again, but as it is a
convertible I'm told it's rare and worth something.
Waiting for the DMV to send me the title before I list it on eBay.
Thank You,
Randy

Actually, NADA has a separate book listing (see below)

The May 05/Aug 05 edition of NADA Classic, Collectible,
and Special Interest Car Appraisal Guide lists a Low, Avg
and High values as follows:
$24,100 / $34,800 / $49,000
There's also the Old Cars Price Guide you can find at
most good book shops (B&N, Borders, etc)
Cheers,

Most book or magazine stores sell the Old Cars Price Guide. It uses the
rating system to give you an estimate of what cars are worth. They have a Web
site, www.oldcarspriceguide.net.
