The 'break' indicator on the dash is lite. What does this mean? Could
it be a faulty ABS sensor? What is the best thing to do?

Thanks.

Something is broken. At least it's not the "brakes".

Needs new pads?

If this has been done, then wiring replaced incorrectly.

Minor chance of a more serious problem.

Which "brake" indicator is it? Do you have an operators manual? This
will explain what each indicator means. There is one for the braking
system, and a special one for the brake pads wear sensor. There is even
an indication on the Check Control for the brake lights.

PS - reminder to all the smart-guys... Goozila is probably not a native
english speaker. How else would someone with enough wherewithall to buy
a 330i spell so badly?

Technically, it's the BRAKE indicator that's on.

You need to have the brakes serviced. It's most likely the front brakes
because they always wear faster than the rear. Assuming your 330 has about
60k miles on it, the brakes should be replaced on the front only about now.
The front brakes generally wear at a rate of 2 to 1 faster than the rear
brakes.

Before you go out and have a brake shop look at this, you may be pleasantly
surprised to find that this is a warranty item and the dealer will do the
job for free.
