In the last 2 weeks, my PF (4x4) has developed a strange noise coming from
the front end. When driving fairly straight, there is a loud
squeaking/creaking in the front end. It has been too cold to get underneath
the truck, and the noise is only apparent when moving. However, I do notice
that there is very similar creak when turning the steering wheel either way
from straight. It goes away once the wheels are slightly turned. Also, the
moving noise seems to subside when the
wheels are turned. The noise also seems to only happen once the vehicle has
warmed up a bit.
Since the temps are below zero now, I can't waste time diagnosing this
problem since I'll get frozen to the ground. I need a fairly quick solution.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW: One of my ball joints is just starting to go. Could this be related?
