Vehicles and Night time driving |
|
|
As seniors and vehicle owners we must ensure that our night time safety needs are met by new vehicles , We had a bad experience with the purchace of a 2004 Ford Freestar van In Canada
The vehicle Before we changed the lower white park lamps to the proper
Bulbs was a terror on the highways By shining additional light into the oncoming drivers eyes.
The unit has 2 really nice amber colored parking lamps, and someone at the factory decided that two more white park lamps should be added
to the front bumper of the unit.
The problem was we could not shut off the added park lamps
Bulbs # G.E 912 was installed at the factory at 12 candlepower
The standard Bulb for all vehicles across north america is 2 candlepower
we installed G.E # 916 at 2 candlepower
Now oncoming vehicle do not dip their headlamps at us any more,
The Factory, Ford dealer D.O.T and NTSHA have been advised
To Date no recall action or safety concerns
towards our safety complaint So its buyer beware
See the complaint on the weblink below
