Altima 2000 remote key fob mode program. |

Hi,
I have a 2000 Altima GXE and all the time the remote entry system used
to blink when I press the unlock. So to unlock all doors press twice
and the car also blinks twice and unlocks. When I press the lock button
it beeps and locks all doors while blinking once.
Two days back it somehow changed, it does not beep when locked and just
blinks and while unlocking no blinks nor any horn beeps.
Someone told me there is a simple procedure to change the "Mode" using
the key fob itself. Can anybody tell me how? Please remember I am not
changing remotes only trying to change the way the car behaves.

Sounds like you accidentally switched it to silent mode -- if it's the same
as my 1999 Altima, just hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for 3
seconds or so, and the lights should blink 3 times. Then it should be back
to normal.

Just wanted to add another thanks as my car is honking normally.
And ironically this beep to quiet instructions were right on teh back
of teh key fob.

Great, glad it worked for you ;) I forgot they were stamped on the back of
the fob, that makes it pretty easy!
