First time on this forum. Just traded my 2002 Porsche Carrera 4S on a 2005 545i SMG factory order (Premium/Sports/Dynamic Handling Packages). Got a call today from the dealer re build time/delivery etc. He told me that the 545i will only be built until April then it becomes a 550i as the V8 for the 7's and 5's will be 5 liters. He said I could switch the order to the 550i. He also said the 550i will be a 2006 even though it will be a May build for June delivery. He could not guarantee the price would not increase..."no more than 2 or 3 hundred bucks" was his quote.
My predicament is this...do I order the 545i now for March delivery only to find its a year old and superceded by the 550i or wait until I can get the 550i?
