and was badged as a 1971. 274,699 Vegas were built in that first year. If

Yup the Rabbit is right. My wife started
at Brager Chevrolet here in Miw ( first
female new car salesperson in Wis) in
the fall of 1970.
Her demo was a 1971 Vega......Brager
had a 1971 Pinto sitting next to a 1971
Vega on the show room floor. The sales
people would show the perspective buyer
the difference between the two..Then
they would slap their hand hard on the
hood of the Vega ( with a solid thump)
then on the Pinto with a tinny boing, and
ask, which do you want to buy?
Of course the Vega started rusting out
on the showroom floor and the Pinto
blew up in a rear ender, cause the gas tank was part of the body.

time or another!
