*My* Corolla FX-16! |
|
|
As some of you know, my son managed to allow our '87 Corolla FX-16 to be
slammed twice within the same week. My husband and I bought that car when I
was about 4 months pregnant with Craig, and it used to be my primary car
before we bought the Echo (and before we bought that POS Subaru Loyale). Now
that my Echo is paid in full (Hallelujah!), I'm trading primary drivers on
the cars until hubby gets back in June (and of course taking the Echo off
'full' coverage). Why, you may ask? Cuz my Echo is much more economical
gas-wise, and the Echo has airbags. I'd feel less nervous about Craig
driving my better-built and newer car, and ......
I drove the old gal today, and she's still a fun car to drive! I plan to
have it detailed (after the front signal light and bumper are replaced), with
the model name of it on both sides. She's on her way to being a classic
anyway, and she needs a break from teenage boys!
Natalie, falling in love with that FX all over again.

God! Proof that women and logic do not mix! Does the hubby know what you are
doing? and the fact that your Echo will probably be ruined in about a month
or two? |

GAH! You're channeling Phillip - this is never good

:-P Will not. I think our boy has learned some very important lessons, of
late. That, plus the fact that *he* feels more confident in my car than the
FX-16. I'm a per diem nurse, so he actually does much more driving than I
do.
And yes, hubby *does* know - I emailed him before I posted this, and he's
fine with it. Bottom line - the kid is much more valuable than *either* of
the cars; at least that's what we tell ourselves to keep from killing them in
their sleep.

Oh, I bet you are!
However, if faced with the same situation, I would hand the kid the

Now's the time of year to get him employed. Try Best Buy, they hire
under 18. Make sure his pants are pulled up and he looks a cut above the
rest. A seasonal job is one of the best ways to enter the workforce.
Make it pay off by being indispensible and the seasonal will turn into
year round.
Good luck! |
