Hi,

My 1991 Cressida with 7MGE is bubling (low RPM idle) for around 10 to
15 sec. when cold start then it'll be smooth. could be the choke?

7mGE are fuel injected, there's no choke.

And what's "bubling"? I could find no such word in the dctionary.

Should it be "bubbling"? "Burbling"?

Is he trying to describe rough, shaky idle?

Cold-start injector dirty?

First thing I'd do is check for codes and go from there. Sometimes
you get lucky. Otherwise go by the service manual.

FIRST thing to do is ignore what you think you hear or felt. Go into denial
about the matter. ;-)

Cold Start Injector operation is typically limited to the brief time when
the ignition key is in the START position and the coolant temperature is
below 100°F only.

Thinking the cold start injector might be leaking and it takes 10-15
seconds to burn off that extra fuel. I dont think the extra fuel would
make it to cylinders when the engine is just sitting there not turning,
it would have to be sucked in at start up. It might be worth while to
pull a spark plug and peek inside the cylinder to see if it's wet at
cold start time. Only other option is to pull the CSI and have it
tested. Everytime I spray carb cleaner down my 85 truck, it'll cough and
sputter until the cleaner is all burnt up. Since the Cressida runs ok
after 10-15 minutes the CSI activation circuit seems to be ok.

Bubling: The spawn of a "Bubba"

The word might be missing an "r" ... making it "burbling"
