Lead got in my gas tank |

My car says Unleaded Only. I have always used unleaded gas.
Last week I went by my brother and he was drunk and getting ready for
deer hunting. He was running around his land with a deer call and his
rifle. He kept stopping at the shed for more beer and whisky. The
next thing he was really drunk and was running around naked shooting
at everything. He managed to shoot 3 holes in my car. One knocked
out the windshield, another went thru the door, and the third went
into my gas tank and all the gas ran out. I was real pissed but my
brother has always been like this and we have all gotten used to it.
I fixed the hole in the gas tank and door with ducktape. I dont
really need the windshield so I just cleaned all busted glass off the
seat and ducktaped a piece of plastic over the windshield.
Anyhow, I am worried now. The car says unleaded only, and there is a
lead bullet in the tank. Will this cause my car to explode or ruin my
motor? I dont feel good about this.

Get as far away from that car as quickly as you can. It
may blow up at any second. It is junk now that there is lead in
the tank. As soon as your start it the lead will ruin the motor
and the converter. ;)

This is beyond belief !!!!!
Anyhow, if you put an unloaded gun in your gas tank, the gun will
absorb the lead bullet and your car will be safe to drive (errr, not
exactly safe without a windshield), but it wont explode and the motor
wont be ruined. Be sure to remove the gun once the bullet is
absorbed, and beware, it's loaded. Everyone (except blonde women),
will put a string on the gun so it's easy to pull it back out of the
gas tank fill tube.

The car won't blow up from a lead bullet in the tank, but the lead
WILL wreck the catalytic converter, which is VERY expensive.
You should remove the tank ASAP, tip the tank over, and pour the
bullet out.
Be sure the hole get's a very good and permanent repair or
replacement. Nothing quite like having a leaking gas tank catch afire
to REALLY wreck a car/driver.
