PUSH DOWN longer and harder on the accelerator. Make sure the RPM go
higher.

it for me...much smoother running (and less smoke too).

For a serious answer - trade the car in or sell it and buy a Celica GTS
(180 Hp versus 130Hp for the Corolla). You should do well in a private
sale with the current price of gas. It would be less expensive in terms
of time and money to buy a car with more power.
