Herewith an article out of "Auto-Bild", about the Audi A6:
" die Zuverlässigkeit ist mäßig. Pannen auf freier Strecke sind nicht selten
(32 Prozent), meist trifft es die 2.5 TDI: Luftmassenmesser,
Einspritzanlage, Lüfter und ab 150.000 km auch das Automatikgetriebe.
Letzteres gilt auch für die Benziner."
--> Problems with automatic gearbox above 150,000 kilometers.
and another one:
"Eine komfortable Sache ist die stufenlose Multitronic, auch wenn diese
Automatik nicht ganz problemlos ist. Ältere Getriebe neigen zu Ölverlust und
rucken beim Anfahren. Meist behilft sich Audi mit der Radikallösung, also
Getriebeaustausch."
--> the Multitronic gearbox is comfortable, although not troublefree. Old
gearboxes tend to leak oil and to "stutter" at start. Audi uses mostly a
strong solution: complete gearbox replacement.
