Honda question |
|
|
Hi folks
Youve helped me in the past + I need help again.
I have a 89 honda accord LX, and it runs great --- except in the rain. When
I hit even a small puddle something (probably underneath) seems to get wet
and the whole system shuts down. After about 10 minutes it starts back up
but it sputters when I accelerate for a minute or two + then it's fine.
Sometimes the power steering feels sluggish at the same time, so I'm
thinking it might be a wet + slipping belt.
But every time I ask you guys a question - you have the correct answer so
what do you think I should do?

Sounds like the ignition wires to the spark plugs. The insulation has
broken down...when they get wet they are shorting out. |

Also, it may be a wet distributor cap or rotor.
Best bet replace cap, rotor and plug wires.

I had a simular problem:
Running the car, with the hood popped, and a mister bottle told me
that I had a cracked ign coil.
Car didn't like running in the rain, or fog.
