A quick word of advice to anyone thinking of installing an alarm/remote
start unit made by crimestoppers. My advice...DONT DO IT!!!!!
There quality control is not very good there, theres a good chance of
getting a lemon, if not right out of the box, soon afterward. Their tech
support is THE WORST I have EVER dealt with, (If you can even get thru to
them, which is almost impossible) and altho they advertise a lifetime
warranty, trying to get your part replaced will be a hassle you wish you'd
never partaken.
I have had so many customers return to me complaining about them, that I
have decided not to carry them anymore.
Do what you wish, but just remember....you were forwarned!!!

I've had no problems with the two crimestopper units I've installed. It's
funny cause I don't have any customers and mine are fine. I'm also an
electrical engineer. I wonder if that makes a difference. Hmm..

I've never had a problem with Crimestopper alarms either, *except* for
two of the CS-2005FM models. This is the one that came out about
three years ago, and had the two-way LCD pager.
I don't think that Crimestopper actually made the 2005FM, because it
didn't appear to be designed like any of their other alarms. I also
saw the same alarm being sold with two or three other brand names, so
I think Crimestopper just licensed the alarm and put their name on it.
Anyway, the remote was fragile, and the keyring that was attached to
it was mounted at the weakest point, so both of the remotes broke
within six months. The alarm actually worked pretty well, right up
until the brain quit working (about 8 months). I put in another
brain, and that one lasted about three more months.
I don't know if CS is still licensing other peoples' alarms and
putting the Crimestopper name on them, but I'd only feel comfortable
buying another CS alarm if I knew it was one that they actually made.
