E46: odometer reset enters 'test' mode ...

I have '00 323iAT.
I just noticed that if I hold odometer reset button in instrument cluster
for few seconds, system enters some sort of a testing mode. It seems to
contain number of tests and some parameters that seems adjustable.

What are these? What can one do with these things?
