Viet Nam...
Isn't that the war started by Democrats...
Isn't that the war that the Democrats turned on the soldiers and
became anti-war anti-American over?
Isn't that the war that the Democrats caused all the people of Viet

Oh yes....that Viet Nam!
Iraq is a different story.

Come on Scott. Vietnam was a mistake and un-winnable.
Blaming losing that war on the Democrats is just plain silly.
It was a non-partisan screw up. It was a huge mistake
for Johnson to escalate this war, but Nixon managed to
screw it up even worse, at least he pulled us out.
Pretty hard to win a war when the people of that country
never even supported it.
Of course Iraq is a mistake and un-winnable also, but this time
it will be hard to blame the Democrats for this screw up, although
I'm sure they'll try their best. |

Nixon ran the Vietnam war for 6 years.
Nixon tried to win Vietnam with a more aggressive approach,
similar to what Goldwater wanted and got nowhere.
Goldwater said he was willing to use nuclear weapons on Vietnam, the
man was a kook. Vietnam is a lot like Iraq. We jumped into a war
without fully understanding the enemy and how to win, and that's the position we are in right now. |

Yeah, but your father isn't the VP either. IMHO Cheney should get the
best possible care, he's had multiple heart attacks, and if he gets
checked out for something the rest of us might ignore then it is
better for the country. The rest of us are much more expendable,
including me. Better Cheney gets my tax dollars than the prisoners
getting free sex change operations.

He had a cold. My 89 year old father doesn't spend your medicare money and
