One of my relatives, a 50 years woman, is looking to buy a used car. She
is looking for something high class (this is requirement) and
comfortable and fun to drive. She drives alone most of the times. She is
driving an 2001 Infiniti i30 which she does not like at all. What is a
good car for her up to $18,000?

I prefer the 1969 SS Impala Custom Coupe, but wouldn't turn down a '68.

The '69 is quite a handsome car especially with the Caprice hideaway
headlights.

Actually, I have a black '69 Caprice 2door body at my friend's house.
It's still black but many years ago, some previous "person" yanked the 396
out. It came with hideaway headlights, fiber optics, 396-2V, but not much
else. Manual drum brakes, believe that.

Maybe I'll find a BBC motor to put back in it someday.. It's not a Custom
SS427, but it's as close as I'd probably ever come to finding one!

Fiber optics? For what? Are you referring to the little indicators
at the bottom of the rear window that told whether the taillights
were working?

Yes, that's it. People in the Chevy Circle call 'em Fiber Optics; everyone
else just calls 'em Fender Lamp Monitors so it seems.
