Will do, thanks. I do suspect a exhaust related issue, could it be the

converter? I seem to smell the sulphur smell more often.
Thanks
I can't see or smell it from here. The only reason I suggested that is
because I have a 97 PU and pieces of the shield are constantly rusting
away.
I had one that would rattle for a few seconds when I cold started the
truck, but as long as the truck didn't sit long enough for the exhaust
to cool down, upon restart, it didn't rattle. When I ripped off the
offending shield, it never rattled again upon a cold start. If you start
pulling off pieces, never park where there is a chance that something
under the truck could catch fire. This is warned against even when all
the shields are intact, but even more so when the shields are taken off.

Climb underneath. Check for rusted and loose heat shields in exhaust
system.

I have a picture of the underneath of my truck, is there a place I can send
it to you?

See if the sound seems to come from your engine compartment. If it's
the V6, one of your exhaust manifolds may be warping and causing a
gap. It will take a while to get really bad. It'll need the manifold
gasket replaced and maybe a new manifold or at least shaved flat and
new studs to hold it.
I just fixed the driver's side on my '96 V6 hardbody and now I can
hear the rumbling of my passenger side starting. What a pain. Really
common with these trucks and the pathfinders.
