Maybe in your eyes...

But you like the Crapsler 300!!!

Now that is one ugly piece of iron...

Maybe so but they cannot build enuf 300C's to keep any on the lot. They are

about to double production.

Hey, Art, haven't really seen one yet? Big, but not like the Crown Vic,
Bigger than a Taurus, sorta ugly, and a cheap interior. For should have
put a little more into it before releasing it. Also, check the price.

That may be, but Ford is still changing the engine.

And THAT isn't going to make happy campers of those who've
already purchased their 500's.

LOL< Art, I rememebr you saying the same crap about the Mopig Pacifica.
Now it apprears sales are so slow, it may even be scrapped.

Actually it got off to a slow start because they built only $40k versions
initially. Now it is selling reasonably well. Needs a hemi.

I saw a guy drive up in a white one today. Looked remarkably like that
small Lincoln they've got. Good looking car, for sure.

When I see the appellation "500", I keep thinking of my Dad's
1970 Custom 500, which was a very different beast.

The 500 is already being "sent back" for a new engine. It seems that
the public isn't willing to put up with its lack of power, and
extreme noise level.

205 hp with the 6 speed or CVT should be enuf when you get 21/29 mpg in a
full size car at $2+ per gallon gas. It is not a race car. I've done a
bunch of searches and I haven't found any engine noise complaints except for
the first prototype test drive.

I get 20/28 MPG on my 4500 lb Sienna and it goes like bat out of hell.

It is Avalon size. The last time I saw a high option Avalon sticker it was
over $35k.

Let's see, Art. All optioned up? From what I've read, that brings it up to
$32,000. A Camry all optioned up costs about $27,000 or less (if you tell
the dealer you'll help him make 'quota') and, um, WON'T fall apart. Oh,
yeah...the Ford is underpowered for its size, too.

We are talking official epa figures. Not your personal driving results.
EPA is 19/26 for current Sienna.

I've always liked Ford's styling.

It's just that their engines and powertrains that are crap.

Why so? Toyota has changed Camry engines numerous times.
Most Camry owners I know don't seem to mind. Are you
implying that Ford owners are better informed and a more
dicerning group than Toyota owners?

I have been in a 500 and, I can't imagine anyone in a Toyota
newsgroup calling the 500's interior cheap. It is far more
attractive than any Camry I've ever been in. And the price
was astonishingly low - of course since I was shopping for a
truck, almost all cars seem to be dirt cheap.

And a 4cylinder Camry is a drag car? The 500 has within 7 hp
of the Avalon, for a lot less money.

Well my parents have owned nothing but Fords since 1957, and
they never had an engine or transmission failure. I only
wish I could have said the same for the Toyocrap I owned.
