1988 toyota supra excessive NOx emissions |

Hi! Have a supra with excessive NOx - have been thru the EGR system,
replacing vital parts. In ohio as of last year this spec can keep you off
of the road. Car runs good with a bit of lifter noise. any help would be
appreciated. thanx, bob d.

Post the numbers, the allowed limits as well as your results. If you didn't
fail by much, there are workarounds depending on what they check in OH.
Check ignition timing. If OK, cat is probably bad.
Has head ever been skimmed in the process of doing a head gasket job?
Excessive material removal can raise compression ratio, increasing NOx.

Hi! The car passed every other spec, but NOx was quite a bit over the
minimum. I will check the timing first and go from there. Thanx for your
help. bob
