You guys don't understand. Martin wants you to write about Toyotas, or to
write about Go Away.
I think (after processing his directive in my mighty intra-cranial
processor) that he wants us to write about the trips we have when we Go
Away in our Toyotas.

Toyota owners, for the most part, have strongly held opinions. Comes
from
being ridiculed back in the '70's for driving a Furren car. <g
Charles of Kankakee
Most people looked at mine with curiosity (a 1200 in bright yellow...)
The ones that did laff shut up when I told them 38 MPG combined!
I used to have people ANGRY at me because I bought a 'Furren' car and voted
Republican. Plus try to find someone in the rural South that knew how to
work on one in those days. The nearest Toyota dealer that was any good was
in Memphis, 70 miles away. The local dealer was a combined GM + Toyota
dealer and really didn't want to work on 'Furren' cars anyway.

Nah, being up here in the enlightened northeast, I didn't have too many
problems. Except when the rear axle broke and I had to wait two weeks for
parts from Japan!
The only crap I ever got about the car (well, not the only, some older
folks *did* give me crap for not buying American, but it was 750 less than
a Nova!) was the time I gave a guy about 2 years older than me a ride, and
he had to sit in the back (2 door) and said as he was egressing, "Damn!
You don't get out of it, you take it off!" Hey, my dirver's door worked
just fine! |

We lived in middle Georgia (Dry Branch -look that up...LOL).
My dad bought one of those Austin Healy Sprites (Bug Eye).
NOBODY would work on it. He had to have it worked on by some guys the
raced foreign cars (Jags etc).
He was the only Republican in the county (I think). They would
confiscate his Time Magazine if the local post office people didn't
approve of a story in it...LOL

It seems so mindless to not have anything to talk about. We just don't have
a super amount of problems with our Toyota vehicles, so we have to talk
about politics or go nuts/
I guess I can relate one Toyota story, summer of 2003 while in my TOYOTA
HIGHLANDER, I was unable to get a room in Kennewick, Wa. because all the
Harley owners had filled the town on their way to Sturgis.
Does that qualify for the Toyota group?
