Hello,

Can anyone direct me to a source for vintage auto key blanks?

Specifically, I am looking for Corbin key blanks, with a C08 profile,
which were used on 1920s vintage autos. I have been able to locate old
Ilco 1000K blanks which have the same profile. But I would really like to
find some Corbin blanks.

Expand your search to Corbin Russwin and you'll find what you need.

Hi Tim,
I have quite a selection of older car keys. I have a keyshop in my home,
however, I do not carry the new transponder stuff. I will take a look to see
if I have what you're looking for. In the meanwhile, you're free to visit my
web page where I have most (but not all) of my inventory posted. Let me
research this and I'll get back to you.

I am having a problem trying to send email to Tim, so if you are reading this,
please email me back so that we can discuss this on a more personal level. I
did try to research this last night and I'd like to get a little more info from
you. I have three keys in stock which I can sell you if you're interested.

Hey Dale,

Sorry about the email address issue. I zapped my sig line when
reconfiguring to the Linux newsreader. It should be working now.

Got any authentic 1958 Edsel keyblanks laying around? The trunk one looks

Sorry, I do not have any original Edsel key blanks. I might have something to
fit the locks (I'd have to research that), but I don't have the type you're
looking for.

Hi Tim,
Ok, let's try this again. I checked my old books and I cannot find any
reference of anything equalling a CO8 being used in automobiles. It seems as
though some of the early Fords used a style that might be similar, but it's not
the same as a CO8. What I have in stock are three Curtis Industries CO8
blanks, two brass and one silver color. I have nothing in this size which has
the Corbin name on in, only Curtis. If you want these three blanks, send me a
private email along with your personal contact information, and we'll take it
from there.

Hi Dale,

I was able to obtain a supply of 1920s vintage Corbin C08 blanks from a
Florida locksmith who specialized in antique lock restorations. He had
the blanks sitting around since he bought the shop in the 1960s, and was
happy to be rid of them. :)

Thank you for your interest and offers of assistance.

Found a stash of them at a Florida Locksmith for $3.00 each + s/h.
www.dedges.com Located them by Googling for "vintage locksmith" and
searching through some links. Nice people. Very responsive to email
inquiry.

They do repair / restoration of antique locks. The section of their web
site dealing with antique locks is interesting. Not vintage auto related
but definitely vintage locks.
