Does anyone have any feedback on the products found at:

I purchased their spray and the plate shield (Photoshield). I am not
entirely convinced that the spray works. I took some digital flash
photos of my car at night in the driveway. I found that at an angle,
the spray worked and obscured my plate. Straight on, it was not so
good... it gave only a partial or little reflection leaving my plate
readable.
I asked the company tech guy about it (and sent him the photos), and his
reply was that a flash on a home digital camera is only intended for
10-15 feet, and that the flash used in photo radar is 10X stronger and
brighter...therefore it would reflect using that type of flash.
I am not sure if I believe this or not...while it may make sense in
theory,I don't really want to test it in the real world. How about
daytime traffic light or photoradar...wouldn't that need a lower flash
level? Does the equipment adjust for ambient light?
I am tempted to respray and add more product, but don't know if this
helps or hurts the performance. It does dull the plate, and it looks
like it is starting to build up. I put 5 or 6 coats on the plate (two
separate plates 6 each).
The Photoshield cover works as advertised... the only negative comment I
would have is that it is not as "undetectable" as stated. You can see
that there is something "distorting" the plate if you got out of your
car beheind me, and were walking up to my car (as a cop would do at a
traffic stop).
I am unsure if it is truly legal (the plate cover)... while it may be
technically legal, it might get you hassled for using it.
I welcome any comments or advice from people who have used it or know
more about traffic light or stationary photo radar.
thanks,
Rich

Dear: Mr. Williamson
First and foremost, I sincerely apologize for the length it took to
respond
to this e-mail.
If you decide to take a flash photo of you license plate after it has
been
treated, don't be surprised if the plate numbers are still visible. That
doesn't mean that it won't work. You see a standard camera flash is only
a
few watts. The speed camera is setup with a 340watt "melt your eye balls"
flash unit which isn't designed to read the number plate, but designed to
pick out your face inside a dark vehicle interior. A standard camera
flash
sometimes isn't powerful enough to produce a "white out" effect. The
correct
way to test the effectiveness of our products is to use actual
photo-radar
equipment. . A personal digital camera is not a photo radar camera.
First of
all, the car has to be in motion. I don't know how you will be able to
take
an image using you personal camera. Besides, the flash technology used
will
not be comparable. The correct way to test the PhotoBlocker spray is
using a
photo radar camera. That is exactly what Fox News investigative reporters
and Denver City Police Department did. As a result PHOTOBLOCKER has
become
the best selling anti-photo radar spray product in the world. To watch
the
actual investigated reports please go to
http://www.phantomplate.com/video.html.

Check out this site:
http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/
I am not connected with this site in any way, other than casually
reading it! They test all sorts of avoidance stuff with (sort of)
police backing. Not much seems to work to be honest - there's also
some pretty good stuff on there about responsible use of speed etc.
It's a private site that doesn't try to sell anything, so it's pretty
unbiased I think.

Re: 944 Turbo or 928 |

What is the weight difference between the 944, 944Turbo, and 928?
I imagine that the 944 is the better "track car" and the 928 the better
muscle-car (competing with Mustangs and Camaros)... with Porsche refinement,
of course.

Because, as we all know, China doesn't have many people so making
friends is difficult. Especially for a woman, since they have one of
the highest male:female ratios on the planet.

liter 5-speed with the factory sport package including 17" wheels. My
questions for those with long term experience with the car concerning power
and delivery. I plan to drive it on w/e (not a commuter car and no racing)
and was wondering if it has adequate power / flexible power band or do you
need to wind it up to get any decent power. All indications are it was very
well taken care of with all docs / service and still under full factory
warranty til May '06; the car was not stored but was used on average of 3K /
year. Any heads up on weak points, or things to look for. Believe I can get
it for somewhere in the $33-35K range.
Any help is appreciated.
P.S. My previous Auto experience include BMW 5 series, SAAB 900, (Audi A6Q
and VW Passat Wagon Current) all stick except the Audi.
The '02 Boxster got variable cam phasing. This increased low end torque |
like crazy. I think you will be quite please with the cars performance. |

Fred,
I bought Bridgestone Potenza G009s based upon feedback from people in this
group and Tirerack. The ride is a little rougher, but the handling is
great. I'm retiring from the USAF after 28 years and moving back to Texas,
so I'm selling the 924S. After the house is bought, I'm going to look at
either an older 911 or Boxster.

AFAIK, all Boxsters ever made have variable valve timing. Certainly our
'00 has it.

Well, almost. It's on jacks in my garage for year #3. Not that it's that
big of a job, I just decided to basically change EVERYTHING. And yes, I
would have to agree, it ain't worth it unless you plan on keeping it.
Nobody wants them because you destroy the "Porsche" value by cutting it up
and changing the one thing people like "Porsche Engines". I, personally,
got tired of replacing $1000 oil coolers after I blew up my third one and
dumped 12 quarts of oil in the driveway. That was the last straw. Mines
not a cream puff but since I tacked on 930 steel turbo quarters and slant
nose body parts I simply couldn't stomach putting another 160 Hp Porsche
2.7 back in it..what a joke. And more like $7K for a good 930 drop-in or
3.6L was not reasonable to me. Yeah, I've got that much in parts and what
not but when (if) it's ever finished I can buy my parts at Walmart and
still make everybody drool. I don't have to pay crazy prices for a mutated
VW motor's replacement parts. Bottom line...it's a redneck idea but it does
prove one point clearly...Porsche-There is ONE substitute...Chevy. |

Has anybody heard anything from these people lately - I'm wondering if
they are kosher and actually deliver anything.
One assumes they are legit and still trading - can anybody confirm ?
Ta.
Whether legit and still trading, I believe the best advice is to
'avoid'. Too many bad reports
here and elsewhere.......
Whether they are legit or not they are still trading and getting away
with it. I wish I'd been bright enough to look into this 'bunch'
before I ordered my car. I am also months down the line after having
paid my remaining balance and have (you guessed it!) I have not yet
had my car either. In fact I'd go as far as to say communication
ground to a halt when they got my money (sound familiar!) I don't even
want the car now it has upset me that much, I have had to instruct a
solicitor to deal with this for me as I am no longer able to manage on
my own. I am surprised that Richard Loach doesn't have time to put
comments on the net, he seems to only be in the office after 12 each
day and they close at 5. What does he do with his time? From what I
have experienced lately he seems to collect cars (all bar mine) and be
in and out of court as part of his daily routine. I want my money
back, I'll keep you guys posted as to how long this takes, thanks for
the legal tips
I believe this is your Mr Loach - follow the link......
