Sussex, WI 53089

I want to buy a restorable Ford Model T. This one will not be a contest
winner, just a Father and Son project. I want to make it as original as
possible and keep it as a Sunday Driver...

What should I expect to pay for such a vehicle? Someone recently told me we
can find them for $600-$700 in these parts

Where should I begin to look?

What cautions should I Look out for?

Thanks for your help...

The first caution would be using it as a "Sunday Driver,"
unless you stay close to home. Ask anybody who ever owned
one LOL

You might also want to consider something from the 30s to early 60s.
Lots of good possibilities and most, if not all, make great "Sunnday
Drivers" and can be driven significant distances in both comfort
and with a non-fear of breakdowns. All are still "basic" auto
technology with the most complex electronics being the radio...if
it has one. A well stocked tool box (set of 3/8 sockets, wrenches,,
etc and you have just about all you need to do most any mechanical
work yourselves.

Great father/son project. Hope you find something workable.

One last comment: How old is your son? If he is driving age, you
may want to consider a vehicle that is driveable now, but needs work.
You may find getting out on the road and to car enthusiast events right
away together is better than a potentially long restoration project.

Cheers,
Bill S. (A Triumph sportscar guy myself)

James, Look in Hemmings or Old Cars Weekly. Also check Auto Roundup
Mag. I suspect you will have to give several K for a restorable T.
They may get cheaper as fans die off due to old age. Good Luck, Jimbo

Ebay - in parts, there's currently a chassis and a couple of different
bodies listed in the sub $1000 price range.
