I've got a slight whistling noise somewhere around both front doors on my 99
Altima when driving around 80 km/h. Has anyone else noticed this and been
able to pinpoint the cause?
I've taped over the seal around the window, and between the door and the
pillars/roof, but it's still there. I just taped around the plastic guide
on the leading edge of the window in case it's from the air rushing around
that thing, so I'll see tomorrow if that helps.
I'd like to figure this one out because the cabin is otherwise really quiet.

It was the mirrors on my Primera. I taped over the swivel joint, and partly
covered a drain slot underneath. Silence.

It might be from the mirrors where the joint is that lets the mirror
swing back if hit (do they still do that?).
Try putting some plastic tape around that joint and take a ride. If the
noise stops, then you know what it is and can take steps to silence it.
What you do is up to you (caulk, silicone, tape?).

I'm pretty sure the mirrors are stationary on the 99... My 94 has folding
ones (and no noise). I'll check that in the morning though, thanks for
the
suggestion!
