You can't easily put a budget on a project car. I have had to buy quite
a few pieces for the '57. The pieces were there and usable but I wanted
something a little nicer. Anytime you buy a car in pieces plan on some
missing or unusable parts. It's part of the game.....

There are a couple of shots of the '57 on this page of my personal web
site. Scroll down to the bottom:

Nice collection of American Iron. None of them, however, appear to be
complete except for the ones that were purchased new. My contention
is that if you commit yourself to a project like the one advertised,
it would be nice to be able to establish a budget and eventually see
an end to your efforts.

That being said, my '66 El Camino will never be finished... :)

It sounds like a lot of money but the thing is you couldn't purchase a
car and duplicate the work he has done and the parts he has
collected/restored any cheaper. Even doing a lot of the work yourself.
I know because I am going through the same thing with a '57 Chevy HT
right now.....

True, but when you make the deal, how can you be sure everything is
there that you need? It's hard to put a budget on a project like this.
