What do you do when your car has a recall? How does this work with a BMW?
I have a BMW 318 I 1984

Somehow I don't think they'll be covering anything on a 20 year old car...
If you want to pay for the service, take the TSB's to a BMW specialist and
have him see if they've been done or need to be done.

Safety recalls should be done free of charge by the dealer. They'll
have a record of what has already been done.

Go to your favorite BMW dealership with your VIN, they will check to see if
the recalls have been done, or if they are outstanding. I suspect that since
your car is more than 20 years old, they may not be able to perform all of
the outstanding recalls, if any. Some recalls will simply never be taken
care of if they have not been taken care of by now.
