Check Engine and 3 BEEPS |

Hi BMW fan,
I have a 1996 328I BMW. A Check Engine message appear on the lcd of my
dashboard, and after driving for a while I hear a three beeps. Can somebody
tell me what does that mean?

The three beeps might mean it's the top of the hour. Do you have the
on-board computer option with the reminder feature enabled? The point is to
chime the top of the hour so you know that the earth is still spinning.
The check engine light can be anything; get a diagnostic tool and use it, or
go to your dealer (or an independent service shop) and have them look it
over.
