2000 Ford Taurus, loud squealing when turning right only |
|
|
I have a 2000 Ford Taurus with 240,000 kms and it makes a loud squealing noise when turning right only. The noise goes away a little when the car is warmed up.
Any ideas what the problem could be and how much parts would cost?
Thanks,
SK

Take off your tire and check the CV joint, which is behind the wheel hub. There are several boots and when they fail, dirt gets in and damages the bearings.
It could also be the disc on the strut. I thought that my CV joint was bad and it turned out to be that disc. It sits on top of the strut and rotates when you turn.
Both are a pain in the ass to replace and require special tools.
