I see you still don't have an answer to your query.
When these cables break at the hood latch it is very difficult to access. No doubt by now you know that.
If your car has a grill that can be partially dismantled from the outside, you may want to try that.
If not, another way (Sometimes, though not often) may be up from behind the grill past the fan. Trouble here is the fan shroud may be an obstacle.
If you ARE able to reach the latch, have a friend push downwards lightly on the hood to make the latch opening easier.
I have heard of some using a slim jim to reach the latch but I wouldn't guarantee that working.
If and when you do get the release cable replaced, add a second shorter one to the release with a cable that allows you to reach it from behind the grill.  _________________ The problem with doing nothing is not knowing when to quit. |
