95 Lumina |
|

I have a 1995 Chevy Lumina, Im not sure whats wrong. I just got it from an auction today and these are the two things that I noticed. It changes gears rough (kinda jerks as it goes thru the gears) when accelerating and as you slow down. Also the brakes are rock solid to try to push to stop. It feels at times like the emergency brake is on but it isnt. The brakes was grinding on the way home. It was like a 40 mi drive, by the time I got home, the car didnt even want to move, it was I was holding the brakes and trying to drive. It had the shifting problems from the time I pulled out of the lot.
Please Help.

Thats what someone else told me to try also. I plan on getting the filter and fluid and changing it this weekend. It has 173,000 mi on it. For the brakes problem, I changed the calipers, brakes and rotors on both sides and still seem to have the problem with them sticking. Will stick for a while and then release. Like I said before, when they stick, its like trying to drive with the emergency brake on. Dont know where to go from here. Car has been a nightmare.
