| The Nissan Bluebird as a car has many advantages over any other family sized 2nd hand car. Firstly it is a Nissan, this to many means frumpy car driven by housewives. To those in the know they know this means the engine is good for atleast 500,000 miles (if not more) and the fuel economy will be around 45 mpg for a properly tuned engine. For a 1.6 litre engine (like mine) thats not bad. Secondly, the build quality for the car as a whole will be excellent, simple but effective, no frills, sound car. The parts are cheap as Nissan have a huge parts dealership network spanning the entire country so they are also easy to get hold of. Another thing about Nissan Bluebirds is that if you have 3 kids there is plenty room in the back for them. Bluebirds are on of the most spacious cars I have owned. One of the best advantages for a Nissan Bluebird is that the engine is so quiet. It makes so little noise you can hear the birds rustling in the trees around. So, in recap, what have you got if you buy a 2nd hand Nissan Bluebird? A reliable engine, as long as the clock says between 150,000 and 250,000 you've got atleast another 5 or 6 years hard use from it. They are available in manual and automatic gears and power steering is fitted on most models. For its age they come with many luxuries, electric windows, air conditioning to name but a few. The sweetest bit of all? The price, you can get 2nd hand Bluebirds in pretty good condition for £350 up to about £1,300 for the top range. Bluebirds on the whole are the Robin, to the Mercedes' Batman. Not quite as good but has all the capabilities and facilities of the very best. |
