Cavalier fuel problem |
|
|
I have a '96 2.0 cavalier.
I have ran several additives to clean the injectors and fuel line and have also replaced the fuel filter...
But every once in a while, the car begins to stall as if it is starving for fuel. This little "episode" it goes through only lasts a minute or so, then everything runs fine again. This might happen maybe once a day or every few days.
I though that maybe there was dirt in the line or something, but I have ran several tanks with cleaner through it so I would think it would have cleared up by now.
Is this possibly the fuel pump? and isn't that bad boy located in the tank?
Any input would be greatly appreciated...Thank you in advance!

It sounds to me it would be the fuel pump. You are right, it is in the tank. There is a way to check it using a fuel pressure gauge. I have never done it myself though.
If you find out it is the pump, make sure the tank is almost empty because it will be a heavy mother if it is full.
