[misnomer]

I let my gas guzzling 4x4 F150 with 302 sit for awhile. Now when I go to start it, I don't get any spark. Untilllllll... I turn the key off!

I was told it was most definately the ignition module, by a couple mechanics. I bought a new one and installed it, and it does the exact same thing. (I had checked the coil first.)

I am being told it needs a distributor, but that doesn't make sense to me since there are no electrical connections on this model distributor. Also, there is no power out of the coil until the key is switched off! (it gives one heck of a jolt, when you turn it off!) I put power direct to the coil, exact same result.

This is one of those "timingless" distributors, there is a magnetic pickup down on the balancer... I am just not familiar with this design...
